I AM

John 8:54-58

Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. (v55) Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. (v56) Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” (v57) Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You see Abraham?” (v58) Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

There is so much revealed in the 8th Chapter of John, and I hope you take the time to read it. The Pharisees questioned Jesus about who He is; where did He come from and who is His Father. Jesus is answering their questions, but they don’t get it. Or should I say they don’t want to get it. Don’t we do the same thing. We can be so blinded by our own opinions that we miss out on what the Lord is saying to us. I don’t know how many times I’ve read this scripture, but something click this time. In verse 54 Jesus tells them that His Father is God, but they miss it. WOW. They get their answer, but it’s not what they want to hear or furthermore, want to believe. There’s so much God has for us, but we keep getting in the way of receiving it. We don’t listen. We’re impatience. We want to do things our way. If we get out of God’s way; seek Him first, then we can receive what He has for us. I don’t know about you, but I want all God has for me. I don’t want to be like the Pharisees. I don’t need to question Jesus. I know who He is and who His Father is. He’s my REDEEMER! He is I AM.

Love,

Delphine
