“Godly Living”

I was reading the other day on the subject of living a Godly life and the author spoke of Enoch. In the book of Genesis 5:22-24 it says all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five and Enoch walked with God. Enoch devoted his entire life, three hundred and sixty-five years to serving God and living a Godly life. Enoch was such a Godly man that scripture says, “And he was not, for God took him.” Hebrews 11:5, “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” He was so devoted to God, that God just took him – brought him up to heaven. It made me think, am I living a Godly life? Is God please with me? Furthermore, is God please with your life? To live a godly life we must have a fear of God; a love for God and have a desire for God. Each day the Lord allows me to see, I desire more of Him. My fear of Him is the awesomeness of His power; to know that He’s a giver of life and love. His desire is to bless us and not harm us. I love Him because He first loved me. We are to reverence Him. Because of His Holiness, He should not be addressed any kind of way. He’s not my daddy, He’s my Heavenly Father. He’s the great I AM. He’s Elohim; El Shaddai; Jehovah; El Elyon. To address God any other way is disrespecting who He is and HIS HOLINESS. Every day we should strive to live a godly life and He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us along the way. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous! Let today be the beginning of Godly living.

I love this song by Israel Houghton – “Nothing Else Matter”. I hope it blesses you, as it has blessed me.
